Night Doesn't Last Always: Joy Comes in the Morning
Have you ever felt abandoned in your darkest hour, questioning where God is when the storms rage around you? The peace you desperately seek feels out of reach, and sleep eludes you as anxious thoughts crowd your mind.
Drawing from the powerful promise in Psalm 30:5 – "weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning" – this heartfelt episode offers genuine comfort for those difficult seasons when faith falters and hope dims. We explore the raw emotions of spiritual questioning and the honest conversations we have with God when His timeline doesn't match our expectations.
When pursuing your purpose, the journey isn't always smooth. The greatest opposition often comes precisely when you're following God's calling, with roadblocks appearing at every turn. These challenges – anxiety, hopelessness, confusion – aren't signs of abandonment but confirmation that your purpose threatens darkness. God hasn't left you alone in this struggle.
The promise that joy comes in the morning isn't just about emotional relief; it's about divine strategy, breakthrough, and revelation. Morning light will eventually replace your darkness with clarity. God's favor isn't simply about opportunities or resources; it's life-giving strength that outlasts every problem you face.
Take courage today. Lay your questions, disappointments, and fears before God. Hold the fort, knowing that what feels like abandonment is often the moment when God is carrying you through. Your breakthrough is coming. Joy is on its way.

God has a greater plan for your story, romans 8. 28 states. For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose. Hi, welcome back to another episode of Precision for Purpose conversations with Colette Numi and Colette Numi. If this is your first time, thank you so much for choosing to listen. And if you've been with us for a while, thank you so much for choosing to listen. And if you've been with us for a while, thank you for your continued support.
Speaker 1:On today's conversation we will be talking about joy comes in the morning. Joy comes in the morning. I don't know where you are today. You may be facing some hardships and some serious challenges. This morning you may be lacking peace, the storms may be raging around you. You may even be going to your bed at nights and cannot sleep because the thoughts are so much in your mind, in your head. Thoughts are so much in your mind, in your head, and you're wondering where are you? Almighty God, where are you this morning? This morning, my encouragement to you is the peace giver is there. He knows where you are, he knows the challenges that you are being faced with, and it doesn't matter what the challenges are this morning, whether it's in your business, whether it's in your family, whether it's in your community and whether it's in the nation where you are living. You are concerned about what is happening, your own personal needs and the needs of others this morning, and you find that you're being weighed down by it, almost as if you are sinking. This morning.
Speaker 1:The word of God from Psalm 30, verse 5,. It tells us that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. One thing I know it can appear as if night is going to last always, but the word of god tells us no. So, even though, where you are at and how you're feeling, it feels as if daylight will never come, take courage and take hope in the word of God that daylight will come. Daylight will come. So you're wondering what's next, lord? What's next? You've told me to take this step and I've done it. What's next? It has not been looking the way how I thought it would look. What's next, lord? What's next? I don't know where to go. I don't know what to do. I am trusting you, but at this point in time my faith is failing. I am feeling hopeless because I'm not sure what to do. The vision I'm not quite sure if this is what you want me to do. I'm not seeing the strategies to accomplish what you have called me to do. Father. What's next? I will still apply that Psalm 30, verse 5. That weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Speaker 1:The weeping is not understanding where you are and not understanding why you've not seen God come through in the way that you expected him to come through. And the weeping comes in the form of questioning God when are you? Where are you? Right when I need you, father? Where are you when these tongues are raging around me? Where are you? Almighty God? And there's nothing wrong in questioning him. There's nothing wrong in asking father, where are you. It's always be keen, careful To be respectful of him, because he is almighty God. He is almighty God.
Speaker 1:You're feeling hopeless because you've tried everything. You've tried everything. These thoughts came into your head and you're saying God, I'm going to try all of these Because you feel as if this is God speaking. But you've tried it and nothing is happening. Can I tell you that I understand, because that's where I am at this point in time, saying Lord, I've tried this and I've tried that. I've not seen the breakthrough that I thought was going to come. Did I hear you correctly? Am I doing the right thing? Can I tell you, as much as we question God and ask him, tell him that we're feeling hopeless and asking him to come through for us, I'm still going to remind you that joy is coming in the morning, meaning that the strategy that you need, the strategy that we need, god is going to send it. Relax, my sister, hold the fort, my sister, be encouraged this morning, my sister. God is with you. He's not gone off and left us. He's not gone off and left you. No, he has not. He's been there all the time. You know the song One Set of Footprints in the Sand. It's in a time that we don't see him, that God is carrying us. He is carrying you this morning. He knows where you are, he knows the heartache, he knows the hardships. He is touched with the feelings of our infirmities this morning and the God whom we serve, he's going to come through for us.
Speaker 1:As I look back on Psalm 30 and verse 35, there is a part of it that I want to bring to mind, because it just grabbed me and it says for his anger endureth but a moment. But that's not where I want us to stuck here. The other part it says in his favor is life. Another translation says but his favor lasts a lifetime. So can I tell you this morning in his favor is life, in his favor is life. So the favor that you and I need this morning, it's life giving and it will last a lifetime, because sometimes we just need the favor of almighty God, and that favor is more than money, it's more than the opportunities it provides. All of these and more, all of these and more so. In our weeping, may we remember that it only lasts for a night.
Speaker 1:Joy comes in the morning and favor brings life. What do you need this morning? What do you need this morning and the conversation is all about purpose, because sometimes we are on the misguided notion that our purpose just comes like this and there are no challenges that we are going to go through. But that is where the hardest challenges come, because everything is coming for us to step back, not to move, not to do what God has called us to do. So the enemy builds up roadblocks in our path, roadblocks to stop us where we are. He comes with different challenges Lack of peace, anxiety about the future, future feelings of hopelessness.
Speaker 1:But God is reminding us this morning that joy comes in the morning, that his favor lasts a lifetime, and he wants us to hope in him, hope in God, trust in his unfailing power this morning, because he's able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you and I could ever ask or even imagine this morning, more than we can ask or even think this morning.
Speaker 1:That's how much God will do for us this morning. So, as you wrestle with him this morning, as you say, lord, I'm not sure what you're doing, I'm not sure what you're doing, I'm not seeing your hands this morning, but I will trust in you, because your words, almighty God, are yeah and yeah, amen. Your words are truth, your words are life, and I am trusting you this morning that, though I'm weeping at this point in time, though I am questioning you, though I am feeling hopeless, though, almighty God, I'm not seeing you as I should yet, I will trust in you this morning, almighty God, because your word tells me that joy is coming. Joy is coming in the morning. So it doesn't matter that it may seem dark at this time, my hope will be in. Joy is coming.
Speaker 1:So today, may I pray with you and may I remind you this morning to take God at his word. May I ask you this morning to lay it all before him. I had to lay it all before him. I had to tell him how I was feeling, how I felt as if I was abandoned, how I wasn't feeling. I was feeling hopeless, I was feeling as if he is not there. But he has reminded me through his word this morning that joy comes in the morning, and that's my reminder to you today that joy is coming in the morning. Hold strong my sister, hold on my sister. God is with you.
Speaker 1:Father, I thank you this morning for my friend, for my sister.
Speaker 1:You know what she's going through, you know the hardship. You know the heartache. She may be weeping physically this morning and weeping emotionally and weeping spiritually this morning, but, almighty God, may your words come alive in her heart this morning. Almighty God, may you remind her this morning, father, that you are coming through for her and that joy, the joy of the Lord this morning, is her strength and your joy is coming in the morning. I thank you, lord God. That, lord God, we don't know when tomorrow is, but you know, and, lord God, we will rejoice in time to come, because the joy of the Lord is our strength and the joy comes in the morning. We bless you, we honor you and we exalt you. In Jesus's name, we pray with thanksgiving amen and amen, amen, amen.
