You Are Enough In God's Eyes

Colette Marie Season 2 Episode 12

Have you ever felt unworthy of your calling? That paralyzing sense that you're somehow not enough to fulfill what God has asked of you? You're not alone.

Self-doubt and unworthiness almost derailed my own purpose journey. I couldn't see past my perceived flaws – my appearance, my voice, my background. I created endless mental lists of all the ways I fell short, convinced that God surely had someone better, more qualified, more polished in mind for the work He was calling me to.

But here's the powerful truth I discovered: everything about you – yes, everything – perfectly matches the purpose God has ordained for your life. Your voice, your story, your experiences, even the things you consider flaws, are precisely what make you uniquely qualified for your divine assignment. When we reject these aspects of ourselves, we're essentially questioning God's wisdom in creating us exactly as we are.

Through five powerful scriptures, we explore God's perspective on our worth. Psalm 139 reminds us we are "fearfully and wonderfully made." 1 Peter 2:9 declares us a "chosen people." Ephesians 2:10 reveals we are God's "handiwork, created for good works prepared in advance." Even Moses questioned his adequacy, yet God simply promised, "I will be with you." And 1 John 3:1 reminds us of the Father's lavish love that calls us His children.

What you're called to do, no one else can do in exactly your way. The enemy wants to keep you trapped in self-doubt because he knows the impact you'll have when you finally embrace who God made you to be. Don't let his lies rob you of stepping into your purpose. When you don't see worth in your own eyes, remember that God does – and His perspective is the only one that truly matters. Ready to embrace your uniqueness and fulfill your calling? Listen now and discover how perfectly equipped you already are.

About Me: LEARN MORE HERE

Colette Marie:

you're listening to positioned for purpose conversations where I share real life struggles women of faith face in seeing god in their story, in their mess, in their hardships and in their most challenging times. Romans 8, 28 states for we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose. We motivate, empower and encourage you to not only see God in your story but to remind you that there is purpose beyond the pain and that God wants to use your story for his glory, for you to fulfill the purposes and the plans he has for your life. I'm Clem Marie, welcome. Can I share a truth with you? I hope you said yes to that.

Colette Marie:

The way how we feel about ourselves directly affect how we live out the purpose or the calling that God has on our lives. Think about it. If you ever felt unworthy, if you've ever struggled with self-esteem and lack of confidence issues, then when God places a call on your life for you to do something, whatever that thing is, then the way how we think about ourselves directly affects whether we say yes or we say no. Think of or let me use my own self the times when I thought that I wasn't worthy. The times when I really struggled with self-esteem and lack of self-confidence. I didn't think God could use me. I started comparing myself as well to others. I didn't feel as beautiful as maybe if I was beautiful, maybe if I was more educated, maybe if I lived somewhere else, maybe if I this, and the list goes on and on. I was placing all those lists before God, all those things that I, if I was, then I would be the perfect person to do what he has called me to do. If you've ever listened to this podcast at any time, you'd hear me share my story about just how difficult it is and the choices that I made and how those choices affected my life story, my life journey, and they were steeped in those image issues because I didn't see myself the way how God saw me.

Colette Marie:

And when it came down to walking in my purpose to be who God called me to be, then I thought to myself that surely God could not use me. Surely he couldn't use me because of all the reasons that I just gave, and then coupled that with me thinking that my voice I don't know about you, but sometimes when I listen back to myself, you know I'm almost wanting to cringe, and that's real. There was a time so let me clarify that there was a time when I listened to my voice and I cringed because to me my voice did not sound pleasant to the ear, and so that was part of the reason as well that stopped me from speaking up or speaking out. So couple that with thinking that my voice didn't matter. I didn't sound as educated. Why would someone need to listen to me?

Colette Marie:

Can I tell you something? The purpose that God has created for you and I, the plans that he has for us, everything about us, matches perfectly to the call that he has on our lives. Everything about it, every single thing, how we look, how we sound, where we live, what we do, how we do it is all part of the unique us, all part of our uniqueness. It's what makes us different. If you think of two persons in a room and let's say they're both speakers, different persons in the audience are going to respond differently to both. They're going to hear them differently. Yes, just use your own self as an example. I know that when I think of sitting in a room and hearing two presenters speak, I gravitate to one, because it's almost as if I can say they're speaking my language. So when we think that, okay, God can't use me because I don't look, I don't sound, I'm not this, I'm not that, and I wish I was this and I wish I was that, I wish I lived there, I wish I sounded like so-and-so, it's almost saying. It's almost like saying God, you really don't know what you're doing.

Colette Marie:

So on today's episode, I want to share a few scriptures, because I can sit here and say a lot of things. That sounds good and all right, but what does the word of God say? What does the word of God say? So today I'm sharing five scriptures to help us, because it's all about walking in our purpose, and we will not allow the voice of the enemy to ring louder than what the word of God says about who we are. I will not allow and we will not allow what the enemy thinks about us To be more than who God says we are, and that's what his word says. He uses us. Every single one of us Flaws and all. We each have a story, we each have a voice, and God is calling us to use that to make an impact. To make an impact.

Colette Marie:

So let us look at Psalm 139:. He says the secret place. When I was moving together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Can you imagine that? So the thing that we're thinking that how we don't look, how what. How we don't look how what, how we sound, where we live, all of that? God saw all of that and yet he still chose us. Yet he still has a good plan to use us. So that is one scripture that we can use against the enemy when he comes to us to tell us that we are not beautiful, or when we have self-esteem and worthiness issues.

Colette Marie:

Two we look at 1 Peter, 2 and verse 9. It says divination, god's special possession, that you may declare the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. When we look at our past, right, our past without Christ was in darkness. Once we came into light, once we accepted the Lord as our personal savior, our past, he's going to make it turn out for our good. He's going to work it all out for our good. So when we share our stories, we share the good parts and we share the not so good parts as well, because guess what? It's also walking in purpose and putting the plans of the enemy to naught, because we will not allow him to rob us of what God has called us to do. You know I'm always singing this song that there are others who are waiting on us to be in place. But if we allow the lies to so crowd out what God says, then it's hard for us to be where God has called us to be.

Colette Marie:

Ephesians 2.10 says For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. Did you hear that my family Good works, which he has prepared in advance for us to do? Did you hear that my family Good works, which he has prepared in advance? And you know God, he lives in the eternal now, so he sees the past, the present and the future all at the same time. So the thing that you think holds you back, the thing that you think that no one wants to hear, the unworthiness that you feel, god does not feel that way. No, he does not feel that way about us any at all. We are his handiwork. Can you imagine that? Think of a carpenter skillfully carving out a piece of furniture and when you get that in your home, when you see it in the store, you say, ah, this is so beautiful. God created you and I as his masterpiece, his handiwork, and guess what? We have a great, great, great and awesome work to do as his handiwork. Others are waiting on us to be in place. So you are enough in God's eyes. I am enough in God's eyes. We are enough in God's eyes. So we hear that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We've heard that we're a chosen people. We've heard that we are God's handiwork.

Colette Marie:

Right Now, look at Moses. When we look at Exodus 31, 11 to 12a, it says but Moses said to God who am I? That I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt. And God said I will be with you. So when you feel as if, oh my gosh, what God has called me to do, I can't do it, I don't have what it takes, god is saying I am with you, I am with you, I am with you. So feelings of image issues are not true, because God is with us, we are his handiwork and we are more than enough in his eyes.

Colette Marie:

Let's look at the last one 1 John 3, verse 1. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God, and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him, my friends, my family. Can I tell you something? Let me just be real with you. What you are called to do, no one else can do it. What you are called to do, you're perfectly fit for it. What you are called to do, god has already prepared you before the foundations of the earth to do it. What you are called to do, the enemy cannot stop it unless you give him permission to, because God has equipped each and every one of us with something that is unique within us to make a difference in the lives of the people whom God has called us to serve.

Colette Marie:

When we think about positioned for purpose conversations, are the conversations normally centered around or in adequacy. But God is saying to us today you're more than adequate. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are my handiwork. Do you hear that? We're his image bearers. He's lavished his love upon us. Can you hear that? Can you hear the Lord whispering those things in your ear today? Can you hear him saying to you.

Colette Marie:

You are enough in my eyes, my daughter. You are enough in my eyes, my son. I've created you in my own image and in my own likeness. I am with you, even when you think or you doubt my presence, even when you feel inadequate, I am with you. I'm always with you, always with you. I'm always with you. I've created you in the palms of my hands and your walls are ever before me. Nothing can separate me from your love. Nothing, no, no one. I'd love to hear how this episode resonates with you or not. Colette Marie:

So let me just reflect once more. Don't allow the enemy to rob you of what God has in store for you. Don't allow the enemy to cause you to doubt that God loves you. Don't allow the enemy to keep you back from going into what God has called you to do. His plans for you are perfect. When you don't see worth in your own eyes, god sees worth in you. He loves you with an everlasting love. He created you for greater works. So walk in it, my friend.

Colette Marie:

I am Colette Marie. Let us pray, lord. Thank you for my friend. Thank you that you know her. Thank you for the good plans that you have for her, almighty God, thank you that, even when we don't see worth in our own eyes and others don't see worth in us, you see. Thank you that I'm fearfully and wonderfully made, thank you that she's fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank you that we are your handiwork. Thank you for all that you have done for us and will continue to do in our lives. I lift her up before you today, god, and I say have your way. In your name, I pray with thanksgiving amen and amen, thank you.
