Speaker 1:

Hi, everyone, welcome. Thank you for joining us today on our Positioned for Purpose Conversations with Colette Marie podcast. I'm your host, colette Marie. Yes, our podcast is for women of faith who struggle to see God in the places of pain and hardship and who need a reminder, a gentle reminder, that right where you are, god will use you in the mess, in the hardships, in your most challenging times, in your heartaches and in your pain. God has a greater plan for your story. Romans 8, 28 states. For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose. Have you ever felt that God has not chosen you, that he hasn't had a good plan in store for your life? There are days when we may feel as if to plan in store for your life. There are days when we may feel as if what on earth am I here for? What has God called me to do? I hear people talking about walking in purpose, but I don't know what purpose God has in store for me. I don't know where to start. Where will I be? I've been in that place and so I can totally understand you. There was a time that I wanted to know what did God call me for? I know I felt a fire in my belly, but I did not know that there was a purpose and I truly did not know that God chose me for this purpose.

Speaker 1:

In today's episode, we will look at five reasons why we know God has chosen us for a purpose. Five reasons why God has chosen us for a purpose. The first reason that we will look at is Jeremiah 1.5. And Jeremiah 1.5 says Listen, sometimes we think that only certain persons are called, only certain persons. God has chosen to do certain things in the earth, and oftentimes we overlook the fact that we too are called for a purpose. God has something uniquely designed for each and every one of us. And can I tell you something else? No one else can do it quite the way that we do it either. No one else can do it quite the way you do it either. If you were listening to the episode last week, you'd hear me talk about two persons speaking, and yet two persons in the room are going to hear them differently, because their voice is called to someone that is unique and will hear them in that way.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, you may be called to be a teacher, a pastor, whoever it is and whatever it is that God has called you to do. But you have a specific and unique person who is assigned to you. Let's look at the second reason. 29, 11 says for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

Speaker 1:

Now, if we know that God has chosen us for a purpose, he's also telling us that he knows what the plans and the purposes are for our lives, for your life. So you're not a mistake. What you're called to do is not a mistake either. Your unique journey, your unique calling, your unique situation is the ripe and the right place for God to use you. The right and ripe place for God to use you. So don't despise where you're coming from. Don't look at it and say how can God use me? I'm from a broken home, my family has been through much. I have been through so much. How can God use me? God can, because there are people who are waiting on you, waiting on you to step into where God has called you to, waiting on you to say, to open doors for them, to open doors for them, waiting on you to release the captives.

Speaker 1:

But if we believe that we are not called and chosen by God, hmm, then the enemy has won. The enemy has won and we will not allow him to win. We will not allow him to take from us what God has called us to do. Ephesians 1, 3 to 5 says blessed be the God and father for Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame even before him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. Can you imagine that this is just a reminder that we were called, predestined before the foundations of the world. And to be predestined and to be called is also saying to us that, hey, listen, even before you were born, god knew what you would be doing, what you were called to do and how you would do it in the world. So it just is important for us to just lean into that and don't look at our inabilities, don't look at it to say how can God use me because of where I have been? No, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1:

1 Peter, 2.9-10, says but you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light, who once were not a people but now are the people of God, who have not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. So, whatever you've done, wherever you've been, god has called you, he's chosen you, you've given mercy for where you have been, god is going to use your story for his glory. A chosen generation and a royal priesthood means that we are destined to be in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, and to be in heavenly places we have to be able to call other people into this place. You're called to release people, to set the captives free to move and to be and do all that God has called you to do. Can you imagine, can you imagine that God, that God and it's Romans 11, 29 says, for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable, so God will not take them back from you when you walk out of his will. They are there, but the presence of God will have left you. The gifts and and and the calling that is placed on your life will not leave. And so when you walk out of the will of God, the presence of God leaves you. You still have the gifts, so you're that anointing, that power that you used to have. You no more have it, but once you come back into Christ you have that. And so when you open that anointed mouth, when you open your mouth in the presence of God, when you do, when you, when you walk, when, whatever it is that you do, god honors it right Because, remember, you're called and chosen for a purpose and you have to walk in that. You have to walk in that.

Speaker 1:

And we look at Deuteronomy 12.5, and it says but you shall seek the place where the Lord, your God, chooses out of all your trials to put his name for his dwelling place, and there you shall go. Where is God calling you to go, as someone who's chosen and called by God? Where is he calling you to go and are you willing to go with him? Are you willing to go with him? So this morning I shared with you five reasons why we know that God has called and has chosen you. We looked at just a reminder that we were predestined, that he knew us, that he has a place chosen for us, a people chosen for us, and so we have to know that and we have to walk in that purpose.

Speaker 1:

What will you do today? How will you respond to that call? Will you be obedient or will you be disobedient? Lord, I thank you for my sister who is listening today. I pray that you will bless her abundantly. I pray that you will remind her that she's chosen and called by you. It doesn't matter what her current situation is saying. Almighty God, you've called her, you've chosen her, almighty God, and so I thank you for her. In Jesus's name, I pray with thanksgiving Amen and amen. If you have listened and you found value in this message, would you consider subscribing or following? And also I will leave a free resource with you in the description box. Blessings and thank you.
